Maya Ousachi

Born and raised in the Detroit area, as the oldest child, Maya assumed the role of storyteller at a young age in an effort to entertain and connect with her siblings. Whether this involved reading a book aloud, impersonating the family’s favorite characters, playing dress-up, or being the first to break out the Just Dance Wii game, Maya was ready for a challenge.
This love for storytelling, acting, and movement quickly developed into a deep passion. Before long, Maya realized she wanted to share this love with more people and soon took to the stage! This included auditioning for any and all school musicals and plays, participating in theatre-based summer camps, becoming state ranked in competitive theater forensics, and more. Maya made the decision to attend a school designed to help aspiring actors harness their talents and immerse themselves in all things theater-related. This led her to audition for Interlochen Arts Academy boarding high school, where Maya's passion and excitement for film, theatre, and fashion flourished. Maya continues to work on her craft as an acting major at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama while exploring the exciting world of modeling.
In addition to stage, screen, and the runway, Maya enjoys playwriting, exploring nature, time with her cat, reading, spending time cooking Middle Eastern food with her grandmother, emerging fashion and design, watching films with a bucket of popcorn, and finding a good pastry at a farmer’s market.
